I
was born in a hospital so I could be near my mom. She was everything to me
back then. I grew up in a preacher’s home, which is sort of like a nursing
home, but without all the medical equipment. I graduated from Oklahoma
Christian University in 1992, just so that I could say, I am a college graduate.
Before I graduated, I couldn’t say, “I’m a college graduate.” It came out
like, “I’m a college gargagua.” But now I can say it. My major was
in Youth Ministry, and I minored in Foosball. The irony is that I spent more
time with my minor than my major.
New Hope is only my 4th church to work for since I graduated from college. Thank you. I feel very good about that. Not everyone in their 40’s can claim such an astute record of consistency. I belong with teenagers because my brain never fully developed into adulthood. I’m sure there is an official medical term for it, but, I don’t know what it is. I have the attention span of a mouse on speed.
I’m married to Kristi, the most beautiful woman in the world, (she won the Daren Mitchell Most Beautiful Woman in the World Award in April of 1992 and continues to be a perennial winner) and we have 4 children. One of which is a teenager. I used to know a lot about teens, but, when a teenager lives in your house they zap your intellect. So, I’m beginning to know less and less, which isn’t good, considering my brain was underdeveloped to begin with.
