If you're looking to learn more about the DNA of New Hope while connecting with some of the leaders in the church, this is where to get plugged in. At Get to Know New Hope you will learn about our beliefs, mission, and values. The meeting is led by at least one of the elders or staff at the church, giving you a chance to ask any questions you might have. There will also be other elders and pastors present for you talk with if you would like.

Rooted is the primary pathway for getting involved in the ministries at New Hope Christian Church. The goal of Rooted is to combine learning about Jesus with living like Jesus, so that we experience more fully what it means to follow Jesus. When you complete this 10 week experience, you will realize the profound change Jesus wants to make in our lives, further preparing you for the life He is calling you towards.

We at New Hope Christian Church are committed to leading people in "Pursuing God for the benefit of others; Being the church wherever we do life." Rooted is designed to help you become rooted in your faith and live out the “7 Rhythms of Rooted” – daily devotion, serving the community, sacrificial generosity, freedom from strongholds, prayer, sharing your story, and celebration!

Who is ROOTED for?

One of the most powerful aspects of ROOTED is that it is for everyone! No matter where you are on your faith journey, those who are just starting out and those who have been following Jesus a long time can join together in the ROOTED experience. ROOTED is a set of facilitated discussions and experiences within a group designed to empower you to personally discover and become ROOTED in your personal faith!

What is a normal group size in ROOTED?

You can expect 5-10 people in a normal ROOTED group. The size of the group often determines how much an individual can participate in discussions, and we want to be intentional about creating the best environment for individual growth in a group environment.

Can my existing group attend ROOTED together?

Yes! An existing group may continue meeting at their own time/location, as long as they attend the large group gatherings on Weeks 1 and 8 and the ROOTED Celebration at the end. If the leader of the group is not a ROOTED graduate yet, they may participate as a ROOTED group member, and a ROOTED Facilitator will be provided. It is our hope that every ROOTED group becomes an ongoing Go-Group, living out the seven Rhythms of Rooted.

Who can facilitate a ROOTED group?

ROOTED graduates who have completed the application and have been approved by the ROOTED pastor may facilitate a ROOTED group. Contact David Peterson (via the email option on our 'about/leadership' page) for more information.

Will there be childcare provided?

If needed, childcare is provided for groups meeting at New Hope if advance notice is given.

What time commitment is required?

ROOTED is a 10-week journey plus a Celebration! Because ROOTED is a holistic journey, the ROOTED participant is asked to commit to at least 8 out of 10 sessions. There is also an additional Prayer Experience and a Service Experience. If you are unable to make this commitment, we simply ask that you come join us the next RoOOTED season you have available! More questions? Give us a call at 641.752.1612.

Is there a cost to ROOTED?

The entire ROOTED experience costs $20 per individual (that’s $2/week which covers the materials cost).

How often will ROOTED be offered?

ROOTED will be offered two times a year beginning in the Fall (September) and Winter (January).

At New Hope, we believe that baptism functions as an essential public confession that: (1) we need to be rescued from our sin, (2) only through Jesus Christ's death can we die to sin and be freed from our old self, (3) only through Jesus Christ's resurrection can we obtain a new way of life with Him, (4) a sincere faith in Christ will be visible to others. When we are submerged and then brought back up again, we are symbolizing death to sin and a resurrection to new life in Christ. Anyone who has chosen to follow Jesus can get baptized.

Go Groups

Growing in our relationship with Christ was never meant to be done alone. Jesus didn't create a one man mission; He established the church. In Go Groups we get the opportunity to know others and be known by others in a way that just ins't possible in large group worship. As we listen into each others lives, we are able to respond by challenging and encouraging each other in love to GO and be the church.

Serving Each Other

There are many different ways you can serve at New Hope. From working with babies to singing on stage, there are a lot of unique ways for you to serve within the Church. To find out how you can use the gifts God has given you, click on the link below.

Reaching the World

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." (Matt. 28:19a). At New Hope, we believe that God is using his church around the globe to change the world one heart at a time. Whether through prayer, financial support, or by participating in one of the scheduled outreach events/trips, we want New Hope to be a part of what God is already doing around the world. Will you join us in this adventure?
